Crushing Excuses

If I’ve learned anything over the past few years, the most influential is most certainly, to embrace the wisdom of focusing on those things I do have the power to change. I continue to learn and grow in order to serve my clients, each year adding new Programs and options to my Practice.

I have fantastic news for those ready to “Shift Gears” in the New Year! (We could all use some light in our lives!)

For years now, despite the education, experience and knowledge of my 30 year career, I realized (as some of my clothing was beginning to strain more than a little bit at the seams….), that I had settled in, to the rhythm of acceptance of a very slow but steady weight gain, increased pain levels and less than optimal sleep patterns and not managing stress well at all. I hadn’t changed what or how much I ate, I was active but somewhat less so because of pain levels – my body, despite my intentions or permission, was just changing into what we accept in our society as a “post menopausal normal”. For males, this stage of hormonal changes is referred to as andropause.

The relief I felt as I studied the science behind this phenomenon in my most recent course of studies, has been profound – Blowing Up any notion of a lack of any control in these mid life stages and unleashing the real the potential we have within us! No more excuses, just a decision to embrace.

I wasn’t in Menopause – I was in METAPAUSE!!! My metabolic functions, like yours, are governed by at least 50 identified hormones and countless enzymes. Mine had given up on me because I simply wasn’t fuelling my body with exactly the food/ fuel my body needed specifically, to thrive on.

At the Apothecary, and in my home Practice, we counsel individuals on a multitude of health issues but overall wellness is at the root of all of it.
