As a Nutritional Counsellor, I am grounded by specific principles:
I acknowledge the individual and that we are each biochemically unique, thereby our nutritional needs are very distinct.
Holistic Nutrition acutely recognizes the interrelationship of mind, body and spirit as being unique and interactive to each of us, providing the framework to an understanding that prevention and self-responsibilty are fundamental to any success within a healthcare program.
Methods include promotion of organic, whole and locally grown foods, farming practices that are sustainable and educating the absolute necessity of creating and living in a non-toxic environment.
We recognize that while the potential benefit of supplements can be significant, they are not a substitute for wholesome, nutritious and balanced foods. Dosage, form and frequency of supplementation is tailored to the individual and respect that our needs change due to a variety of factors over the course of time.
At the forefront, we respect all facets of our client’s needs, considering their wellness goals, personal tastes, morals, social and life values.
The unique contribution of other health care providers is of paramount importance! The need to work cooperatively regardless of whether they are of an Holistic or Allopathic background keeps this a patient centered health care design and allows for open communication and patient safety.
